Shakespeare Around Charleston

It is a pleasure for the Charleston Library Society to be a central hub for literature, culture, and the arts here in the Holy City. Along with our friends at the College of Charleston, we are thrilled to present a handful of special opportunities in 2026 encompassing all that William Shakespeare was. From prose to pamphlets, and sonnets to summer teaching courses, these programs, performances, and classes are not to be missed!

Guerilla Shakespeare // Will the Real Shakespeare Please Stand Up

Along with the College of Charleston, the Charleston Library Society is thrilled to celebrate arts and culture through a shared appreciation of William Shakespeare’s work. For the 3rd year running, join this reception-style format to enjoy refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres while the College of Charleston’s Department of Theatre and Dance performers creatively (and perhaps spontaneously!) interject various soliloquies, sonnets, or other abbreviated renditions of Shakespeare works and performances.
