Porto Seguro plays instrumental music from Brazil including choro and bossa nova. It’s fun, laid back, rhythmic, soulful and great music to share with friends!
Choro music developed in Brazil in the early to mid 20th century and has some parallels to American ragtime. This fun instrumental music requires virtosic playing combined with quick improvisations. It melds European and African influences into a distinctivly Brazilian combination of up-beat melodies backed up with a syncopated vibe that is at once both joyful and full of soul. Choro is considered a precurser to bossa nova and other Brazlian popular styles.
