Life Long Learning: High Altitudes and Aspirations // Four-week Course
September 22 @ 10:30 am - October 13 @ 12:00 pm
$185.00 – $235.00
Many dream of climbing the world’s highest peaks, but few ever see it through. For those who do, it takes careful planning, perseverance, and commitment. Join experienced climber and author, David Schaeffer, for a focused series about the art of mountain climbing. His newly found passion started at the young age of 44, when he and his three brothers made it to the top of Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States. From there, he sought more challenging climbs – everything from volcanoes in Mexico to Everest Base Camp and five of the famous “Seven Continental Summits,” including Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, Mt. Vinson in Antarctica, Mt Elbrus in Southern Russia, and Kosciuszko in Australia – climbing with some of the premiere climbers in the world. The journey and his experiences provided the opportunity to write two books on this great subject – the first, Five Big Mountains, and the second, Another Five Big Mountains and Treks. We look forward to hosting you for an engaging series for mountain climbing enthusiasts or those simply curious about the process.
