Chamber Music with CSO // Two Octets, Two Musical Worlds
April 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

In collaboration with our friends at the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, we are honored to welcome two octets and two musical worlds! Revel in the beauty of Igor Stravinsky’s Woodwind Octet and Franz Schubert’s String Octet for an unparalleled chamber music experience by the CSO’s core members and welcome back to the Main Reading Room CSO artist-in-residence, Grammy Award-winning cellist Zuill Bailey.
Stravinsky’s Octet was inspired by a dream he had, which is evident in this whimsical and vibrant composition for winds and brass. Schubert takes us on a journey of his own in this 6-movement-long work that explores the richness and lyricism of his string Octet. Join us for this dynamic evening of chamber music that explores the bounds of music!
