Art in the Stacks // Plein Air

As a pillar for local artists across the Southeast, the Charleston-based Charleston Artist Collective returns to the Library Society for an expansive group show honoring their 15th Anniversary Year. In addition to a special assortment of Plein Air created that day, the featured works from more than 80 artists will include abstracts, landscapes and other representational pieces demonstrating the artistry, talent and philanthropic goodwill that the Artist Collective fosters for each of its five communities. There will also be an exclusive opportunity to see these talented creators in action, Thursday, November 13th at 10am, 12pm and 3pm; join us for live painting demonstrations with interchanging artists.

In keeping with its mission, a portion of every sale goes to a local nonprofit, designated monthly and surpassing more than $200,000 since inception for organizations supporting children, conservation, education, and the arts. The Library Society is honored to be the designee for this special Anniversary celebration, and we hope you’ll join in the fun.

About the Artist Collective

Since the Collective’s inception fifteen years ago, it has spread from Charleston across the South, to Atlanta, Nashville, DC and Palm Beach. Founded by Allison Williamson, a nationally respected authority on the exhibition of original art, the Artist Collective provides a platform for local artists to grow their potential and to provide collectors, young or experienced, access to original affordable art while giving back to Charleston area non-profits and organizations. Collectives are significant to the Artists’ practice by providing a vehicle for combining inspiration, ideals and approaches.
